One of the Robb Report’s “Top 40” firms in the country and a leading proponent of interior design as a form of portraiture, Australian-born Mark Cutler’s collaborative approach and context-driven studio Mark Cutler Design, Inc. masterfully blends the fundamentals of building and design to bring to life personal and elegant reflections of his clients – residential and commercial alike.
Founded in 2000, following his ten-year tenure at William Hablinski Architecture, Mark Cutler Design, Inc. offers a wide range of interior design services including space planning, construction, renovation, aesthetic and structural revitalization, and lighting and furniture procurement.
Formerly the resident interior designer on A&E TV’s “Makeover Mammas,” Cutler’s “creating style for life” design philosophy has won him numerous accolades and the attention of many celebrity clients including Steve Carell, Vanna White, Tom Skeritt, Keenen Ivory Wayans, Bill Phillips, and Jennifer Lopez. Past commercial design clients include Cippriani Hotels and Regent Hotels.
On the television front, Cutler has made numerous appearances on HGTV (Designer’s Challenge), MTV (A Day in the Life of Jennifer Lopez), The Style Network (House Beautiful TV), and Discovery Channel, as well as on KABC and KNBC in Los Angeles.
In addition to having participated in the most prestigious showcase houses in Southern California, his work has been featured in many of the leading shelter and design magazines around the world, including Architectural Digest, Metropolitan Home, House Beautiful, California Homes, Home Magazine, The Robb Report, The Robb Report Luxury Home, Kitchen & Bath Trends, Traditional Home, and Kitchen & Bath Ideas, as well as in The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, and The New York Times.
An entrepreneur at heart, earlier this year Cutler became Chief Design Officer for nousDECOR.com, an internet platform for design enthusiasts including a website, video channel and mobile app.
Cutler is also intimately involved with the ASID Emerging Professionals Group, which strives to provide guidance and counsel to recent graduates as they begin their career path.
He also has worked closely with PAWS LA, a non-profit organization that provides assistance to the pets of people with terminal illness. He is also on the board of the Child Success Foundation, which is an organization that provides services for Autistic children.
